Evil Genius Wiki

Polar is a playable Genius in Evil Genius 2, available in the Oceans Campaign DLC.

Biography[]

"When she was a girl, Pilar's most cherished times were in the winter, when the pond by her house froze over so she could skate on it." But pollution escalated. The Earth warmed. The pond stopped freezing. And Pilar - now Polar - resolved to undo the damage to the environment and bring the winter back."

"Polar first mastered the science of cryonics. Her breakthroughs into freezing tech were eagerly financed by a consortium of billionaires. But when she realized they just wanted to freeze themselves to ride out the incipient climate apocalypse, she shattered them and went her own way."

"Polar regards herself apart from other evil geniuses. While they wish to conquer or destroy the world, she wishes to save it. It's humanity where she draws the line. The way she sees it, humanity broke the Earth, so humanity must buy it, and she's quite happy to help humanity find its checkbook."

Abilities[]

Crunch Time: Order minions to prioritize jobs in Polar's vicinity.

Overclock: Overclocks a number of minions within the AoE, improving their performance for a short period of time.

Cool, Calm, and Collected: Polar's influence on the lair causes her minions to lose Morale and Smarts more slowly.

Doomsday Device[]

Polar's doomsday device in her campaign is called Z.E.R.O. It is a cold generator that will allow her to freeze the world as she wishes. It differs somewhat from the doomsday devices of the other player avatars in that in the endgame portion it is only fired once, at the end of the base invasion countdown, before granting the player victory.

Trivia[]

  • Polar is the first evil genius in the series to play the part of an anti-villain, rather than a pure villain, due to not wanting to selfishly rule the world, but instead to "save" the world. Though her intended goal is not entirely malicious, her methods of achieving that goal are still heinous enough to fall into the 'evil genius' category.
  • Her minion-executing catchphrase, ("There may be some momentary discomfort") is a reference to a line by Mr. Freeze from an episode of Batman Beyond.
