"Technicians are great for fixing things, but they are perilously slow at research work, we need some trained scientists to get the science team up and running at a proper pace. Antarctica has long been a haven for science personnel and what better place to make a raid, no emergency services, nothing in fact for hundreds of miles. We can get in, kidnap one of these useful individuals, and be long gone before the spring supply ship has even left Cape Town. Once back on the island, we will be able to interrogate the secrets of learning science out of this useful individual."
